poker
from souliloquy
Poker~ All this sloppy work And a thousand imperfections That you find in every pore Of your being This cursing the genes The aching limbs The rebelling cells The colliding thoughts The conflicting actions The unreasonable And even the unmentionable Why fret Really why fret The inconsequential stuff When one day Time will realise It can’t keep up With your infinite grace Light won’t be able to match Your brilliant radiance When one day You will throw away These old rags And tags Dive deep into the river Of self And sit down to play Strip poker with God (At the same table!) And as you deal the cards She will sit With her beautiful Blessing hands Under her chin Beaming with pride That you made it!
