Pole Dancing 2.0: Conversations with Sex Workers & The Broader Community
from That Being Said · host Thaylar McNally & Aiesha Nightingale
Welcome Back to That Being Said. Last season we chatted about our personal experiences and our love for Pole Dancing. The episode had a massive response! We got a ton of insight from our listeners, friends in the community and beyond, we absolutely knew this was a topic to revisit! In this weeks episode we wanted to highlight some voices from individuals that are or have been, both professional sex workers and also involved in pole dance as a hobby. Through interviewing these people we wanted to take a moment to recognise the on-going hurdles facing sex workers when participating in an activity that their industry pioneered. We really hope you listen to the responses we received today and go on to further educate yourself on the topic, and ensure you're well equipped to be an ally. We also took a few responses from people in our smaller community as well as people who have never participated in pole! we truly hope you take todays episode on board and use it to further your knowledge. This community is full of aspects we should be actively dissecting and critiquing in order to better our spaces, todays episode highlights just one and we are confident there will be more space to revisit Pole Dancing again.
