from dc · host Salai Dawtcemsang

The German Chancellor, Friedrich Merz, says an attack on one of Europe's largest Pride events in Berlin late on Saturday was an attack on German society. Police are still searching for the driver of a vehicle that rammed into a crowd, killing a woman and injuring sixteen people. They say the twenty- one year old man suspect has links to Islamists. Also in the programme: a third of a million people in France and Spain have now been ordered to leave their homes to escape wildfires; and Britain's new prime minister, Andy Burnham, has said he would publicly oppose President Trump if it meant defending the country's national interest.
