Politics As Usual

from Best Friend Weekend Podcast · host Best Friend Weekend

Welcome to February! Aldo NICE, Rog Smuve and Los aka C.A.P. kicked off Black History Month with a podcast centering on three things we love talking about in the culture: sports, politics and music. Rumble Williams led off the pod with his observations about black folks in expensive cars (01:00) which got us discussing what we value the most. Aldo let us know what Burned His Boudin this week including being “held back” from “my right grade” (08:00), the use of Apple Watches in church (13:00), tearing off too many paper towels (19:00), my child vs. me (22:00) and people who exaggerate their height (23:00). Next, we decided to run down interesting events surrounding the Super Bowl (32:00) such as Pat Mahomes’ greatness, the QC Stripper Bowl, the tomahawk chop and the lack of respect for the national anthem. These conversations segued to some political talk surrounding Trump’s acquittal (44:00), Nancy Pelosi wilding (47:00) and the democratic party (49:00). Lastly, we got to some music highlights and discussed our new favorite artist, Chad Focus (1:00:00), and Lil Wayne’s Funeral album. We ended the podcast with Aldo having Nothin’ NICE to Say about stealing identities (1:08:00), a rehashing of our convo on bounce music in high school (1:12:00) and Rog’s weekly NFL segment (1:30:00).
