Politics, Friendship, and Cynicism with Josh Mesker

Josh Mesker and I have been friends ever since we met at our Alma Mater in 2004. He was an enthusiastic, politically engaged guy, while I was just getting my feet wet in the world of spiritual formation and theological study. Our friendship has defied the odds as I have struggled more and more with political cynicism and he has engaged at deeper and deeper levels, even serving for a season as an elected official. Despite our disagreements, Josh's words have often caused me to pause and think about politics in new and dynamic ways.
