I want someone who rises above that, who's the adult in the room, who says, hey, listen, everyone sit down, go to your own corners, let's discuss this, instead of being rambunctious little kids." ~Jennifer Nassour     This Week on Political Contessa:   DeSantis put himself in a debate with Newsom, even though he had more to lose than Newsom. DeSantis performed well in the debate and gained attention and publicity. There is speculation that Biden may be replaced by Newsome at the convention, with Obama endorsing the decision. DeSantis' debate performances have been declining, while Nikki Haley's popularity has been increasing. There was a disagreement about DeSantis' decision to pass a six-week abortion ban in Florida, as well as changes to certain laws. DeSantis was praised for his handling of COVID-19 in Florida, particularly in reopening the state quickly. Nikki Haley's comments about welcoming Disney to South Carolina were seen as a misstep in the culture war. The discussion touched on the importance of fiscal responsibility and the need for a leader who can rise above divisiveness and be the adult in the room.   Awaken Your Inner Political Contessa   Thanks for tuning into this week’s episode of Political Contessa.
