Pomeranians are included in the Toy Group, think Toy Poodle, Pug, and Shih Tzu's.  Pomeranian dogs originate from Pomeranian the land mass - present-day Germany and Poland, and bordering the Baltic Sea.  Their origins date back to before B.C. and were popularized in England by Queen Charlotte in the 1700's and Queen Victoria in the 1880's.  They have a double coat of fur from those early days in harsh winters, and it resists shedding, dirt, and water but does require plenty of combing - but these are small dogs so the effort is NOT strenuous.  Pomeranians are small dogs between 3 and 7 pounds, but have a cocky - fun personality and are perfect for shows.  But because of their lines in herding and as a protector, you can...
