Pope Leo Calls for Peace Amid Fracture | US News

Pope Leo XIV delivered a stirring message of peace and unity during visits to San Marino and Rimini, urging Catholics to combat war, division, and polarization through mercy, dialogue, and genuine human connection. In Rimini, he called for a “rearming” of minds, words, and nations with Christian values, while praising young Catholics as hopeful agents of change. Reflecting in San Marino on the legacy of Saints Marino and Leone, he celebrated the republic’s enduring commitment to freedom and community, offering timeless lessons for a fractured world. He emphasized that political systems must always uphold human dignity, warning against hollow liberation, and challenged believers to see everyone as family, disarm destructive technology, and reorient work toward human flourishing—not profit.
