On the Rock, the bells have been ringing at the Cathedral of St Mary the Crowned. Our News Editor Christine Vasquez spoke to Bishop Carmel Zammit, who met Robert Prevost in Rome last year.A lack of continuity, failures in communication, and substandard care were among the concerns raised during a public meeting this week on domiciliary care services. With Lifecome Care’s contract terminated just seven months after it started, the Minister for Health and Care says a thorough overhaul of the service is under way. Iain Triay Clarence was there and thought it was worth doing long-form coverage in the form of a special Viewpoint programme last night.Gibraltar Red Cross is holding its annual Flag Day today, joining Red Cross and Red Crescent societies around the world in a global day of fundraising and solidarity. Gibraltar Red Cross President, Lady Bathurst, said “this year’s Flag Day holds special significance, coinciding with the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe." We were joined in the studio by long-standing committee member Tessa Imossi, alongside Tim Bristow, the chairman of the Gib Red Cross.Last month, the Gibraltar national team took part in the 2025 World Backgammon Team Championships in Greece. Teams from 25 nations from across the world descended on the Greek town of Phthiotis. Michael Pitaluga and Nadine Chipolina told us how the team got on.And Louis Parral told us about what’s happening in sport this weekend, including darts and futsal, and also had a chat about the rise in popularity of racket sports on the Rock.  Hosted on Acast.
