Popper the Poltergeist: The Inspiration Behind the Beloved Horror Movie

· host Lucid Lab Podcast

The Poltergeist movie, released in the early 1980s was the one to get Kendra hooked on Horror movies. In this week's episode, we explore the real-world case that inspired Stephen Spielberg to create this movie in the first place. Popper the Poltergeist, aptly named based on how the spirit presented itself, was active in the 1950s on Long Island at the Hermann household. Spawning on a seemingly random day, Popper would wreak havoc on the family for about a month and then disappear forever. This would be the first time paranormal activity would be caught on camera and to this day, there isn't really an explanation on what was happening in that house. Listen now for all of the details around this mischievous Poltergeist! __________ If you enjoy Lucid Lab, please rate and subscribe on your favorite podcast platform.
