Deputies have speculated it could have been a coyote, wolves or even wild dogs, but DNA evidence has concluded only that the attacker was canine in nature  DNA testing facilitated by an N.C. Wildlife biologist has eliminated any wild animals indigenous to the area. Update & Correction from Sheriff's office Beaufort County NC.
