This fall, voters could potentially decide whether or not a tax on lodging in Gunnison County could be used to help fund the county's affordable housing program. The recent housing needs assessment says that over 400 units are needed by the year 2020, and given current funding levels provided by the Town of Crested Butte and from Gunnison County, that will be impossible.
