Post-Acute COVID Syndrome in Pediatrics with Donna Curtis, MD & Rachel Workman, MD (S4:E29)

from Charting Pediatrics

While statistics indicate that children have largely been spared from the worst effects of COVID-19, little is known about what causes a small percentage of them to develop serious illness. Providers are now reporting the emergence of downstream complications that mimic what's seen in adult "long haulers." In this episode, Dr. Donna Curtis and Dr. Rachel Workman join us as we consider how pediatricians can support patients who are dealing with the lingering effects of post-COVID infection. Donna Curtis, MD is an infectious diseases physician at Children's Colorado and Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Infectious Diseases at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Rachel Workman, MD runs the Integrative Medicine Clinic at Children's Colorado and is Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Patient-Led Research Collaborative for COVID-19 Join us for our next Virtual COVID-19 Town Hall on May 13 at 6 p.m. (MST) where we unpack the latest research on the pandemic and how it is impacting kids, as well as Q&A with the Children's Colorado Infectious Diseases team.
