Liverpool suffered a heartbreaking last-minute defeat to bitter-rivals Manchester United as they came out on the wrong side of a seven-goal thriller at Old Trafford. Despite trailing to Scott McTominay's early strike, the Reds took control of the tie thanks to two goals in quick-succession from Alexis Mac Allister and Mohamed Salah before the break. But despite being on the cusp of a semi-final trip to Wembley, Jurgen Klopp's men let United back into the tie as Antony's late strike forced extra-time. Harvey Elliott would restore Liverpool's lead, only for Marcus Rashford to equalise in the second half of extra-time. Substitute Amad Diallo then snatched victory in stoppage-time to set up a semi-final clash with Coventry City at Wembley. With the Reds' FA Cup exploits now over for another year, their attention to switch back to their Premier League title-charge and Europa League challenge after the March international break.
