Postcards from the Trenches
from sanchia7 · host sanchia7
From @BBCR4today this morning : .Between 1915 and 1916 a young German artist, conscripted, sent postcard sized paintings back home to his girlfriend: scenes from the trenches. Not barbed wire and corpses in the mud, but (mostly) more peaceful scenes. A unique set of @Pastpostcards....now published by @BloomsburyBooks Thanks to @CameronPercival of @BBCRadioDrama for reading Otto's messages
