Behind strong performances from their dynamic backcourt of Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe, the Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Orlando Magic to capture the 7th seed in the Eastern Conference. With the win, the Sixers will take on Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and the Boston Celtics in the first round, with the first game of their seven game series on Sunday night. Tyrese Maxey led the Sixers with 31 points and 6 assists on 11-25 shooting. VJ Edgecombe added 19 points and a team-high 11 rebounds, with Kelly Oubre Jr (19 points, 5-10 from 3) and Andre Drummond (14 points, 10 rebounds) chipping in as well. For Orlando, Desmond Bane led all scorers with 34 points. Paolo Banchero added 18 points and 5 rebounds, albeit on just 7-22 shooting from the field. With the win, Philadelphia takes the 7th seed and will take on Boston in the first round.
