The underdog is howling. This is Stanford's Eve and the Bear, yes a home team getting points. What's better than that? Welcome in Just trying to get this one to get this done for a while bear is here Obviously, you know people are doing their own thing and it's a pandemic But we got an awesome podcast.
I think I'm gonna up cold cubilek unless you see network is gonna join us to break down the NFL Bear, how are we doing? We're doing okay? Just that little drop up from home Watch what's pony say as you know? So some days did Sunday's bed today was we was one of a bad, but uh, there's always tomorrow and I just Just try trying to say as much as possible and hopefully we get through this and it's interesting that there's a lot of people now Really catching on to the whole college football is gonna be delayed It's not time so I got the best my opinion a lot about this week So we're just gonna have to see what happens enough is everybody What do you think about Kirk's comments?
And I think Kirk is speaking as someone from a former player former son of a coach a parent of players I was in the game of wilds. We've obviously spoke with some people and I think there are some Everybody I think at this time what it's natural to want to consider the worst case possibility So hopefully if we do what's up, what's being asked of us right now by the CDC and staying in trying to get this Perflatants people to treat and move on and it's an encouraging news I guess today from a kid about potential breakthrough with some type of treatment The though these are the types of things that we need for for a little bit of a homie check No doubt and there'll be you know things you got to fight through here to listen to us I got sounds on my computer. I'm sorry Travis. I don't know how to turn off all these alerts that keep popping up So you'll hear those through the podcast like do my email clothes you told me to close that that's closed But there's just pop ups going around so I appreciate you guys bearing with us I hope we get you a couple minutes away from you know What is maybe you know some things you don't want to be thinking about doing about and we could give you a couple minutes here There I do do you have like what?
I imagine you got enough sauce in the fridge Do we have enough goods to make some new sauce if you run out of sauce? Yes We went to the grocery store the other day and I loaded up I got a couple of cans of Of crushed tomatoes got a couple cans of days that got some some paste. I got some car actually I got some basil. I got some garlic.
I got some oregano That's that's where we're plenty good We're actually gonna fit after we get them tape and this tonight gonna finish off the lasagna that I made on Sunday No, very good at it fortunately, but I forgot to forget to forget the bread We got some lasagna ready to go and yeah, we can certainly Send it no more lasagna, but I got plenty of seed. Yeah, that's a good thing. I got some plenty I love playing about this stuff. How many trips have you made to the grocery store since the self quarantine?
Usually usually we try and go once a week every now I will do one full run Yeah, either a Saturday or Sunday early of the day And then if there's something that pops up during the middle of the week I'll run over to the little the little stop and shop right right nearby and pop in there for a couple of items I mean you just get out of there as quick as possible, but yeah, we have to do it a whole lot of a Century now, but for sure. Let me go walk around our little walk around the Block every now and then just to get out and get some fresh air maybe a little a little drive just to kind of get out But yeah, we're we're we're avoiding people's kind of a goal right now Yeah, speaking up I gotta go over to the ESPN cat to get my dinner So I appreciate you let me know all the sauce is good at the phlica compound I actually I actually to mail me some if it's getting worse here bear. What's the last game game? Like PlayStation Xbox game console you you hold What was the college football game with a comic laser on the thought was that like college football 94 95 Yeah, sports.
Yeah, PGA tour with like to saw grass. I think Genesis I don't know if it was a good Genesis or if it was a Nintendo It was one of those yet. I up that's as far as my if you want to go like old school in Kendo We're at the target to 200 and then get the technical ball or RBI baseball now now you're in my wheelhouse But I think yeah, I think that PGA tour dolphin NHL 94 Yeah, I'm a I'm a long way of the roof from my video game in days. That's a show.
Are you are you out? Just I have a ps3 And I am in a brutal conundrum because the last guy that football game was essentially 14 and I was saying about five finished Breaking bad. I finished the wire again. I watched Tiger King I did all those things.
I'm kind of like tired of watching the show. What's going on? Should I watch Tiger King? Yes, if you got it.
Yeah, if you got some time, it's not gonna get better than it is after episode three Obviously you were completely wrong Well, hold on. I'm talking to bear here I'm not wrong. It was so hyped up. I mean, it's it's yeah I mean, there's a lot of sad stuff to me in it But it's as bizarre as a thing is as you can imagine But the twisters that are at the end of the first and second and third are just amazing to me and then four or five Six and say it's just you know, you know, it's coming and you just level it levels off to me It's a steady incline one through three and parts of four and then it's just steady Plateau so but it's yeah, definitely watch it.
It's there's nothing like it you will ever see put it back Fort Bob description up earlier today where we were doing that daily was nobody wins I'm like, I like ties. I'm a fan of a good hockey tiger We used to have the world the old school pre college football over time nothing wrong with a good tie And I said nobody what nobody won in reservoir. That was great. So all right I'm gonna have to give it a look there.
That's a great way to put it great way to put it What else we got before we throw it Oh, I want to know what that's there is we was chatted with what you thought you were so wrong I just think it just keeps going and it's like a trainer But just it just so many twists and turns and things that you're just like are you kidding me Moments that you have to keep going it's like a drunk person that doesn't keep doesn't stop drinking when you know He needs to call it call tonight There you have it So anyway, I'm looking for the last ps3 game bear That was nsa 14 and I found the case at home because I was gonna fire up the PlayStation It's been a while and I open the case and the game's not in there on So it's it's yeah, that was a brutal beat. So Tommy phrase Tommy Frazier was on college football USA 97 Okay, yeah, that's the that was the equivalent like Madden was EA and then that was like 99 sports I think it was still it was The following year it got changed over to NCAA football with Danny Whorful on the cover all right And that's when 99 went to I think it was game-breakers that had the old it was the game They think it was too different but yeah 99 sports and yeah, and that makes sense now that it was 97 obviously Yep, we would have been done and and I know different from PMI that was I remember myself and Brad and Peter's cone Yes being radio producer legend together. Yes, exactly what house right there. Yeah, we had some fun and I can remember We were playing that game in our in our house that's at that time So we would get a right here so it would be what was the game you and her be used to go out in that same one Probably yeah that in the PGA to a golf and I do remember some epic Video did both if you want to see entertainment When we would get together for ball games on the road I remember being at the finish and I don't know what title game it was obviously or what both in it was one year We were in the art or even at the world ball the line But you got away used to come on the road and then hang out and like they would get like a second television in the world And what are their buddies would bring the PlayStation or the Xbox or whatever and they would just have tournaments and you'd get on I college football it was and they were so intense.
It was unbelievable And see they were trying to support the current e-sports Ben market but literally they have a second television wielding to the room just for the sole purpose of being able to have Xbox To play something for that I forget what your competition is being called is just unbelievable There's there's no better talking experience It's in college football college football players or former college football players playing college football on video games They're it got us to train again. That's what that you learn to do it and train again That's what you do you're either napping or you're playing that during lunch time So it's it's incredible memories still have them But other than that I hope everybody's staying safe and bear if you got anything else. We'll throw the cold air Yeah, let's I'm curious to listen to listen to listen to Paul and And One also thing check out the SVPOD Scott and I had Justin Thomas on this week. Yeah, he is shirtless And really bored so he he called in our podcast A great start to my my golf pool we have a year-long It's like the WTC events and the majors and a couple million GT Yeah Alright now we welcome in Cole cubic SDC network Love everything he does watch more film that I know I can possibly fit into a week knows every player on every SDC roster It feels like I can't imagine how many high schools he knows about he is my favorite bald war Eagle Cole welcome to savor Stephen the bear how we doing?
Hey, I'm doing great guys. I hope you guys are staying safe and kind of finding your way through this entire thing But I'm excited to join you guys today. Thanks for having me. Yeah Well, I want to start with some with some with some NFL draft stuff Just knowing you're on the field with your crew during those SDC network calls, you know, you're up front You're a former center at Auburn So, you know you and I and I know Barry likes the big ugly's up front So you have an appreciation for these guys and there's two guys at the top of the draft looking at McShay's latest mock And they're not going anywhere and it's a guy from your alma mater Derrick Brown and mr Kinlaw from South Carolina who you and I have talked quite a bit about When you look at them right now and they're coming out of college Okay, and then you compare to who you had who you think has the higher ceiling.
What differs there? Oh There's not a ton of difference up from the ceiling perspective I think they're they're kind of different style players Kinlaw is gonna give you more link He's gonna give you a guy's got an NBA wingspan and I want to say it measured over 80 inches of the combine It's insane You shake it you shake his hand and you feel like you're shaking an NBA guys hand and you see him walk around and the guys got like nobody That I think Jeff Dilman his street coach last year I told me he was like 17% body fat at almost 320 which is just insane You know, it's kind of weird that the Jags are sitting there at I think nine and Probably gonna be on the board at nine and they just lost Kaleh Campbell who is another really long tall Latey free show defensive tackle and Kinlaw's pitch right into that mold of what he was and what he is And I think Kim law has the same kind of feeling both of these guys have recently had kids. They're both super mature They both love the game. They both are gonna put the work in you know Kinlaw is a still a little bit more raw than a dared brown I think they're brown a little bit more of a finished product and I think they're grounded more versatility You put the film on a human Auburn You'll see him running the chilt nose You'll see him playing three technique five technique there were times that Kevin still allows him to sort of be a stand up defensive in and they went with their bigger packages like you go watch that LSU game and You know they kind of ran that that three one look We said they took the fourth defensive line and put it my client back So they still have four down nine on the field But Kevin did a nice job of sort of the five and some things and their ground will be and I'll stand up defensive in at times But he's losing up to be able to do some of those things I think Kinlaw his flexibility slightly would be one small nothing I would have on him versus Derek Brown But Ken law the guy that I was really worried about leverage I was really worried about was he gonna be able to win with pad level in hands and he really came a long way with that last season and showed me He could be an excellent pro put the Georgia game on put the Alabama game on and you'll see a one-man wrecking crew You can say that for about any game of Derek Brown and he does it different ways.
He doesn't with power and he'll take on double teams He could to gap he could penetrate you know He's a thing I love about Derek Brown the most is he'll track plays down from the back side So if he gets it all sweet the other way outside don't the other way there are a lot of times You'll see him making tackles while pursuing from the back side of those plays You don't get many three hundred fifteen three hundred twenty five pounds he tackles that are doing that They're just not putting that kind of effort in they're not exerting that kind of energy both of these guys in my opinion our Can't miss products. I mean the backstory on Kinlaw is just incredible and great So I was so glad yeah, so glad that people at at the senior ball and the combine got to hear a little bit You know we were we were in Columbia two years ago and T-Rive the decordinator who played with me at Auburn and must-amp they sort of alluded to it and told us a little bit about it But I don't really think I don't think Jevon was even really comfortable talking about it that much as in and then he came in It sat down with us last year when we had him and he opened up and told us the whole thing He told us how it went down and you're talking about a guy that thought about quitting football to go work for his family He and his father were living in his vehicle. They were going motel to motel He was homeless and thought about talking about walking away from football to just try to go get some kind of income And literally told us one of the main reasons that I came to South Carolina to play football was and this is not just a South Carolina Thing, but I knew I was gonna be able to eat I knew I was gonna get meals and that's one reason that I stuck with football Because I knew that I would always have meals on the table wherever I decided to go play So you talk about a guy's hungry a guy with something to prove Jevon Kinlaw is absolutely gonna be that guy yeah So I'm with you both guys I feel like I was just homerooms man and I just worry I'm rooting for him so much You know because other stories you know what they put on tape You know how good the kids they are and I just I'm hoping for the best of them because they both deserve it I want to go on the other side of the line But she's got the first tackle going to 8 Arizona at 8 with Warps out of Iowa And then he's got Cleveland taking wheels out of Alabama at 10 if you're say well Just say your Arizona you want it you want an offensive tackle who's the tackle you're taking? Holy mother that's that's a complicated question because with that Arizona I'm thinking they need to got a plug and play it left.
Yes. Yes If that's the case I might go Andrew Thomas Okay, I don't think you can go wrong with Tristan worse and I think he is probably the most plug-and-play ready left tackle in this draft But I think if you're talking the guy who's closest to that with a higher ceiling that guy's Andrew Thomas I was Georgia now the old feeling guys Mcchivecton. We know that we know that I mean the guys unbelievable a ton of power can be acting move people I mean he is literally like the human excavator when you watch my face guys up and move them Now if you're going right tackle, I like Jezric Wills more than any offensive lineman in this draft because he gives you nasty He's physical. He's gonna finish.
He's a road grader, but he struggles a little bit in past pro It's one of his knocks doesn't have the quickest feet doesn't change direction as well as he needs to and he's only played right So he may be a little bit limited I think Andrew Thomas might be my guy if I needed a left tackle that I was gonna spend this kind of money on this early That I was also projecting out to be a guy that we were gonna have for the future Andrew Thomas might be that guy But he can't go wrong with worse You can't go wrong with wheels and I think that is gonna be a great pick for somebody It may take you to get ready But the top four five of the tackles in this draft are it's a heavy hitting tackle draft early I think it's a pretty big drop off after that But I think all those guys that we've talked about are gonna be solid in the NFL You mentioned will from Alabama one of the one of the draft props out there is a number of Alabama players to go in the first round Which is obviously a very good number five and a half of it We all think that Zebra and Kings can run the first round just because his ability to do a lot from that safety position So I guess basically it comes down to do you think your bond digs it the quarterback will be the six Alabama player taken in the The first time you think that would be an over five if you think this goes the first round Yeah, what's the one way that five and a half is where that number is right now? Yeah, I Mean you got to get to get to a with two and Wells which you receive is gonna get and then so you do one more Yeah, I'm with you there I think McKinney comes off the board way earlier than people think because We're gonna fill is right now you're not you're trying to get away from exchanging personnel all the time This is the guy that can line up its lock corner if you need him to you can come play the run in the box He can back off and be a deep field safe if you need him to and he has the ultimate sample approval He's one of Nick Saban's guys like and I'm not talking about I'm not talking played for Nick I'm talking a guy that Nick Saban will legitimately go to back for like he is make a pitch Patrick He is landing Collins like he's that kind of a guy as far as what Nick Saban thinks of him So there's gonna be a couple of things that hear that and say oh we gotta get this dude in and I don't think there's another player That I mean obviously Simmons can do a whole bunch of things We know that me he's a Swiss army knife and he's a utility guy but he'll be closer to line of scrimmage But if you're talking about guys on the back end like Okuna is your lockdown corner? Yes, I don't know if there's anybody else that has the kind of versatility that McKinney does that's gonna be projected to come off the board that Earth so I think you're looking at a need and somebody who can feel a couple of boys on the team and McKinney will come off the board much I would probably say no, I think he's in the first round corner What will hurt him is I don't think there will be a run on corners in the first round We're gonna get a quarterback run We know that early right and then it's by the time the second tackle comes off the board because that top four five group It's so good I think you're gonna see a run there There's gonna be a ton of receivers come off the board We know that's gonna happen and I think you're limited at a couple other spots like inside linebacker very limited corner A little bit limited if you need like a quick twitch pass rusher off the edge and like a three four scheme I think that position is a little bit limited I didn't think I think there's a lot of really good running backs in this draft But I don't think there's many elite running backs in this draft So I could see maybe a couple of running backs or one or two sneaking into the bottom of the first round that we might not anticipate So it's gonna be D line quarterback receiver heavy early I think tackle it was gonna be a run on early and then when that happens usually those are the positions that sneak into the bottom of the first Because those are the positions of need and there's a lot of movement at the top Which I think there's gonna be those teams that move down is corner gonna be a position of need for them I'm that's what we don't know and that's what essentially changed all that So if you were me right now, I played the under on that because I don't think dig comes off in the first round What about the two receivers from all about a Judy and runs for those who really haven't spent every minute of the last For years or so watching these guys One of the differences is that we would you would have Judy right there? I'm assuming most people do and just how do you think both of their games translate to the Five heard some people make comparisons with the with Judy to maybe more Harrison Who boy that is a that guy's a help a comp I think I think actually Judy may be a little more loose than Marvin Harrison was He might not be as quick twitch.
I don't know if he's a stout I don't know if he's durable and physical. I mean I know Marvin Harrison wasn't big But I mean he was a guy was not afraid to challenge the middle field not afraid to take hits and get a blocker too Yeah, absolutely very very tough very physical, you know, I think if you need a number one receiver bear Like you need to do it all guy like okay, we're putting the franchise on this receiver. He's your go-to guy You got to go Jerry, too He's he's the best route runner in the draft. He has the best hands in the draft and he may be he's probably the most elusive receiver in this Draft as far as just avoiding different styles of coverage finding ways to get open and getting his body away from defenders now if you're in a situation like Kansas City was and You all you need is that guy to help take the top off or they went and took me go call me go Harbin out of Georgia not a lot of people thought that was a smart dick But I think Andy Reed knew what that guy could do to open up other things in their offense Then I think Henry Rogers or guy if you have a number one or you have an outside guy that you know We're good here and rugs can help bring that extra safety attention And you know he's gonna be able to run past people see the thing is there's no system that doesn't require someone to run past people Pro-style spread quick ball distribution of you if you're thinking dunk whatever if you're run heavy What are you gonna play action for it's the buy is the time to push the ball down the field?
So a guy like Rogers with his ability to be able to run past people and take easy throws and turn them into explosive plays You can fit him in anywhere I just think that if you really need a number one guy You got to go Jerry Judy because he's gonna bring you value in so many different ways me 50-50 balls finding balls in traffic catch radius Those are the kind of things that Judy's gonna give you a little bit more of the engine run stuff One of the guys mentioned is potentially one of the best defensive players in the country I'm a lot of what I was great. I've had a great year in 2018 But this game seemed to slide a little bit in 2019 But can you attribute that to injuries you think or was it miss tackles? It should either be it to me not even mock it a lot of places to go in the first round now It's probably surprise that people who would have told them that before the year I mean do you think there's a chance you still said to be the back end see someone that someone's gonna get maybe a potential Real skill with the value they're picking up in the second round There's no doubt they'll be valued even if he's in the second round especially towards the middle of a second round And you're right he was I had him and trust me I've got plenty of help with this going into the season last year as the best football player in the SEC going into the year I just thought he did so many different things well and added so much value to your team in different places Because I saw him cover the slot I saw him come up and play the run I saw him rust the pastor he could do all those things and again with the conversation we had about McKinney Delphick gave you all of that I think injuries a little bit of concern I do think there were portions of last season that there were some body protection that was happening some business decisions were being made I think that tapered off towards the end of the year when you sort of saw the light at the end of the tunnel in What was in front of that LSU football team? I think that kind of went away But that's gonna concern scale that's gonna concern GM's when you're talking about putting first round money on a guy Appellate politically physically has every every bit of ability to be a big time safety in the NFL But physicality and durability when those are your questions that position is probably gonna find you a little bit further down the graph boards And some people realize all right a couple quick ones on the way out What how do you best utilize Isaiah Simmons?
Where do you plan man? All right? So I'm just gonna go ahead and piss everybody off on your podcast I Was yours as a college football player. I love Isaiah Simmons I thought I thought Britt Vinnable did an excellent job utilizing him.
I thought he did an excellent job making plays I Talk to scouts about this and I've had a few guys and say hey man. I'm with you. Don't put my name on it But I'm right there with you. I'm with you Steve.
I don't see where he fits You're telling me you're telling me some of these flex tight ends in the NFL He's gonna be able to run with those guys and cuz you're confident in manning up Travis kills I don't know you know, they should try to kill every week. I get you right. You're right But is he if he quick enough fast enough as like enough to cover the slot be a flex tight end or a slot receiver I think he's physical enough to play the run close to the box But can he do it for an entire season and can he hold up against NFL offensive linemen and NFL blockers be it HVAC Tight and fullback whatever you're gonna get that's a question market I have if he's strong enough powerful enough to be in every down stand up three four outside rusher Even if you're gonna drop in a lot of the time I get that there's value there But I don't know if he's that good of a rusher to be able to see you every time that we're talking about We can say this and this or this isn't this or definitely this he does this better than anybody else Well, the thing that Isaiah Simmons does better than anybody else is line up at different places on the field and he makes place Yeah, yeah I mean the physical part of it's gonna be a different conversation because you think this long six four freaks show that moves and runs I if there's an NFL comp for me, you know, I think I think they're with James and I've listen I watch I watch dirt with play Florida State and I'll be I didn't think they're gonna deserve to go to high I'm here first one to admit that I'll put my name on that now But I don't see during James as a college player I think Carlos Danby out of Auburn about 15 17 years ago is the closest comp that I've seen today's image now Carlos would not your mouth piece out and did not mind playing close to the line of scrimmage He was a scout team linebacker He came to Auburn as a wide receiver It was a scout team I'm my senior year and we hated blocking it hated blocking it because he was a he was a madman And he'd love to hit I think that's the kind of player that he will need to morph into an outside linebacker They could be a hybrid player that can do different things But I don't see him get whoever drass him is not gonna get away with playing him off the ball as much as Clemson Did and you think an NFL team is going to allow a 15 17 yard deep safety to blitz and actually impact the pocket That ain't happening in the NFL He put the fair few game on and I think it's just blitzing from depth single safety depth is getting sacked and getting quarterback hits That won't happen in the NFL. So I wonder where his truth it is I wonder where he and with it I understand he sort of fits a lot of places But where does he truly make an impact and if you're taking a guy in the top five in the top 10 He did a little bit or impact your team somewhere in a serious way and I have some questions that I think it might not be that guy I think it's most dangerous pick in the first round that he's talking about I think it's very dangerous pick that high I watch him, you know It plays last is last for three games in person and I love him.
I absolutely love him. Love the way everything about him I just when he does NFL is just such a different animal and I just look at you know If so like you mentioned the three four outside linebacker thing and I think that's what's gonna happen I don't know if he likes that but I think the team that does as you say, you know what? We trust our coaching we trust what we do and this is what we're gonna do because you're gonna be awesome at this So I just I really feel for the kid because he might not be You know as as you know, you don't want to be negative about the kid I just hope he realizes he's got a lot of work to do, you know, and to be great He was great in college. He could be great in the NFL I just I want the best for the kid and I think it might be a little long, you know to make that impact that where everybody's expecting And when you turn on the tape you see at the college level I think it's gonna take a little bit more time to get rid of you know, there's space in college There's a whole lot more space in the NFL other one your favorite player that's not gonna be a first rounder Maybe not a second rounder, but you just love the kid Man it would be easy to go Marlon Davidson out of Auburn, but I'm gonna go Logan Stenberg up into guard out of Kentucky I think he's still probably a maybe day two day three guard But you talk about a guy that finishes that plays the game the way it's supposed to be played that brings attitude that brings That like he will change the demeanor of your offensive line I think he can change the demeanor of your offense if he's good enough to be inside your system and playing every down You go watch the film of Logan Stenberg I mean how they have to get you a couple of times to do too much He's funny he put him aside at multiple conversations with the kid like hey buddy.
You've got to calm down Like we can't take any more penalties, but that's his nature. That's his demeanor You know, he's he told me stories about how his mom would tell me when he was his kid He's like the only way to not get beat up is to beat up the person trying to beat you up like that That's who he is and so I love watching him play He's not near physically gifted as a lot of the other offensive lineman in this draft But he makes up for it with style of play and nasty and he has a lot of fun to watch You mentioned the address but before you I think most people have him as the number one running back So do you think he does go in the back into the first round and who would you in number two running back be because I know who Mine would be I just curious to get your opinion who you think about the second back to go Man, I think I think there there are some serious sleeper running back from this draft Seriously for one back like if can acres had a dude who could block into years What would we be talking about him right now? I mean we would I mean we might be talking about him on the same level as another elite Florida state running back A few years ago like I think he's that kind of talented now You didn't have a big injury and obviously people are gonna hold that against him I think that boss did a super sleeper in this draft I think he's on bond if he saw a bond gets the attitude where it needs to be he's got every bit of physical ability Any leading up a running back he just there he did not enjoy being a college football player from what I saw a season ago I think it'll turn some people off You know you wonder about Jonathan Taylor and a day dealing two guys at a ton of production guys like us love watching those kids play Like those are our kind of running backs Those are the guys that you know we would have never of mine running 65 run plays in a game with the way those dudes do it But how good of a fit are they gonna be in the NFL then you see what your kin are doing? You're like oh man, maybe they could be really successful in the NFL But I gotta go client ever see you there if there's if there's a number two back for me like it's a K.
Dobbins more exciting. Yes, absolutely Yeah, I mean if you more electric yes 100% there's no doubt about it But go watch the past pro cut-ups of client over to you And then put the Alabama game on and see the checkdowns and the bodies that he made miss to get extra yards Just a nagate just a nagate and this is a guy that going into last season I remember making remarks like this is running back to you This is the place where elite running backs come to thrive and they got a rely on this guy Like this is gonna be there dude this year and he turned into just that he turned into a dude catching the ball out of the back Field pass protection making guys miss running through people He is he reminds me a lot of Kevin fault when he was at LSU And I think he could be that kind of a back in the NFL that you can rely on him to do a little bit of everything He may not he's not running past people. He's not he's not making people miss at a very standard site level And he's not Christian a coy a running over people But I think he there's literally no box that you can't check that he's above average at or pretty damn good at so I think quite Ever to you there even at the bottom of the first brings a ton of value to an NFL football team love it love the kid Love him awesome awesome stuff I do have one more true or false and then you explain the story True or false you've seen vanilla ice and concert more than once True. I've seen vanilla ice and concert in the same week more than that Tell the story the Six I think the independence ball that you was played before me.
Yeah, we went out on your seat the pool and we need a bowl Auburn versus army a dog fight to the finish we found a way to pull it out I was a red shirt freshman I ran Arnie's I ran the trip off into the captain off of the body of breakfast So I don't have a ton going on and we're in street for Louisiana and I'm not 21 So I'm having a hard time getting on the boat. I can't go gamble. I can't go play cars I can't go roll the dice. I can't go doing any of that So what are you doing street for Louisiana as an 18 year old?
College football player with a ton of time on your hands because you're there for a week to play a football game But you're not even gonna play it so we're in a cab going to some bar one night He was like well, but I was playing down at the warehouse tomorrow night and when he says warehouse that wasn't like a cool name for the bar Pull-up there has been some factory there before and we walk in and the worst part about it is like You'd be embarrassed to tell your friends you did this, but then we go in and this is like the grunge phase vanilla ice Predator dreadlocks nose rings and he's wearing like the potato sack hoodie pull over things burlap whatever that was back in the day But he did play ice ice baby at the end he plays like the grunge version and then the animal version and then the night of the game We go out again and our cab driver taking this I guess there's a downtown street for us We were going and he's like well, you know, there's a lot of cars They're out there and we're like hell with it man take it I mean we had like well there's a lot going on that was actually enjoyable at the concert And other than being the music so we figured we could replay that part of the concert at the next concert So yeah, I have seen vanilla ice performed two times in less than a full calendar week And I don't have any desire to ever see him perform again. All right, very good I'm the way out favorite fan base in the SEC outside the state of Alabama No, it's gotta be LSU man. I don't know how it couldn't be like even if they're mad at you They're mad at you in a way that you can enjoy like when Alabama fans get mad at you like when Georgia fans get mad at you like What a fan get mad at you it immediately goes personal like they're they're drumming up old pictures Like they're talking about they'll tell them stories like they're making things up like LSU fans get mad at you And it's funny like you laugh at it and it's just cool to see a fan base that loves their team that much that gets behind everything I mean gymnastics baseball basketball They get behind everything that school does and they just do it in a different way like I can take you to Auburn and a lot of And Ole Miss and Georgia and Gainesville like a lot of those college towns in the SEC sort of mirror each other in different ways I told school or said Columbia like things like they're a lot of them are very similar in their own ways in little different ways None of them are similar to Baton Rouge none of them. None of them are similar to the way it is when you walk in that stadium I get a different feeling now.
Listen, I'm undefeated in Tiger Stadium Pretty good about when I walk in there. So 97 99 cigar game Yeah, you call it people tell me people try to come at me and say you cursed your team cigar game 99 where we ran them out of there and I bet there's 12,000 fans there When I clock it zero in the fourth quarter that game didn't lyrics to Ronnie Daniels and everybody tells me I curse him But I'm like hold on a second man. I'm undefeated there. I didn't curse myself.
I didn't curse me You didn't beat me there. So I feel pretty good about Mr. Gavon 99 so but there is I mean Gaveville special with a slice of special Jordan Harris special kneeling is special the coolest thing is when people ask me What's allowed place you play? I'm like what year?
I played in Knoxville the year after they won a national championship ain't no stadium on the planet Lotta than that place was that year ever never I played in Gainesville the year they won an SEC championship I thought that was and those students are literally four feet behind you Healthy behind you like they somehow sneaked around the world which you can't put the students behind the bench or something I don't know it's unbelievable You gotta take a stadium at night and there is no place in this galaxy like that place So it depends on who's rolling who's good who's the best but I mean I've been into overtime at night in Tiger Stadium There is nothing like it on earth and those people are just special man. They're unbelievable You've got a lot of respect what LSU fans are and what LSU fans do Couldn't have said better shots all those fans. Hope everybody's doing well you my man. I appreciate your time We'll catch up soon.
I know you got plenty going on. I keep doing your thing down there and stay safe all right Love it man. Appreciate you guys and I'll talk to you tomorrow bear. So we'll look at that up Hope to be able to do this again soon He's the first guy I thought of when we had some downtime and we didn't even get to some of the college football stuff I want to get to but the draft stuff.
There's nobody like Cole and I appreciate him coming on bear Yeah, I the thing that struck me there was his I guess opinion or thoughts could be That is very counter to what the perception is out there With how well we tested the combine and lining up all over the place and and I was getting that with a Which of both peppers was I think Michigan peppers was more lauded for low you can light them up And I can't I can remember like going like three games a time where like we get a lot of missing games Yeah, you see and I can remember like going like games at a time where you didn't see your both peppers make a place I was getting Anything as a tire college career. Let's just say okay, but I get one career pick one career pick No, that's kind of what I'm saying. I think you got more publicity and more height for a being in Michigan Be all you can line them up and line back you can line them up and strong safety Why the record and he didn't have production whereas at least Simmons had a ton of production in college Yeah, but I think that that's it. They talk about lining up But but that that was an opinion that I have not seen very many people is publicly voice and concerned about potentially taking I say a similar side.
He made some valid points. That's for sure. So Anything else going on before we wrap up? No, not a heck of a lot.
We just have to Wait for the other the shadow day performance is to pop in there and take a look at see what's gonna Kind of race we have gone on this weekend and just Saying as much as possible got it. It's gonna be on the menu for the coming week and make a Make a little a little grocery list together. See I'm getting where I see what I make this week. I'm still here I'm working every night.
So it's it's I don't want to say it's a relief, but being able to come in I feel pretty fortunate when you know being able to do stuff with Scott and do this podcast with you I'm just thinking about everybody out there. I know people are having a tough time staying home is what we got to do and Say say brother take us away unless you get more news when you wait
