Potential USAID Dismantling | Feb 4, 2025 | Hour 1

The Trump administration has made headlines with its decision to dismantle the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), one of the country's key foreign assistance and development arms. This move has sent shockwaves through the international community, especially as it comes on the heels of growing controversy surrounding the agency’s operations. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has stepped in to take on the role of acting director of USAID, marking a major shift in the leadership and structure of the agency. The controversy began when Elon Musk and DOGE uncovered years of mismanagement within USAID. The investigation, which began as a public transparency initiative, revealed numerous inefficiencies, financial discrepancies, and accountability failures in how USAID funds and resources were allocated abroad.
