Greetings, greetings, welcome to another episode of Truth to Power. I am your host, Tyris Minnite. We will soon be joined by Snicks, who is a frequent contributor to the show, as well as Keanu. She's a frequent contributor to the show as well.
And, you know, we're going to talk about potential versus performance. Once again, this is part two, but we're going to dive into the career, aspect of everything. And I promise you guys, it's going to get explosive. Hello.
Hey. Yes, Snicks. What's going on with you? Okay, can't complain at all.
So, it's supposed to be joined by Keanu, but she has a no-come on yet. But we just don't get started. Well, last week, we were talking about performance versus potential, as far as that relationship goes. And today, I want to really touch on the career part of it.
So, basically, I just want to ask, and you know, this is a black and partnership. So, in your opinion, would you say that black people get paid on potential, or do they get paid on performance in a job? It depends on what type of company you're working for. I definitely think that potential has been the aspect of most companies, which is sometimes could be not fair.
But in some companies, it has been quite obvious that we're not accepting just what our potential, we're putting performance on the line, on the table, and showing what we can do, and are actually expecting more from companies. Now, when you say it depends on what type of company you work for, what do you mean by that? Like, on companies, you know, private companies, sometimes it'd be the hardest to get money for your performance, and set your potential. You know, most private companies are run by other very hard to find a letter being African-American in those companies.
So, they definitely just pay you what the base take up possibly be not according to your performance. Why do you think that is? Because they have the power of the pin, and you can do that. I'm saying that, what I'm saying is, that's why like, races, other races run the company, right?
You're the best qualified person. You're the person that, you know, meets other criteria. You know, you may even blow some of the criteria without the water, but it doesn't even meet them. You might blow some of those criteria without the water, but these companies refuse to promote you and give you higher pay.
What do you think it is? If you're black. Because sometimes black people, and you know, and I've been in this type of situation, so we don't research and don't understand what we're qualified for. We don't understand that we are definitely worked way more than we're being paid.
You know, and that sometimes become an advantage for a company. They will use that, unknowledge, you know, if that's even a word, but that, you know, and use that against you. You know, like sometimes there's somebody who just feels like, okay, I mean, I have a degree, but I have all these other aspects, you know, or I just have to get paid the minimum. Sometimes, you know, just being comfortable where you are and not researching, you know, there's actually apps that you can research what you're qualified in, what your worth.
But some people just not do that. Oh, you see, do you think that's, um, and I really don't want to say this for black people because there's no damn way we're not lazy, but they're the lack of, um, receiving, I want to say like a self-worth to a certain degree because maybe they don't feel like they are worth their pay. Not even just worth the pay. Sometimes you're in a certain situation that just allow, that makes you have to accept that.
You know, um, maybe about five years ago, I was with a company that I was making maybe about $25 an hour. I literally, because of me having kids, I definitely took, you wouldn't even believe a $10 decrease just to be able to afford, you know, my living, because I couldn't find a job that was another job that was able to give me that amount of money. So sometimes it's a situation that'll put you in those situations and you're kind of like forced into something that you know that you're well worth way more than what they're giving you. So sometimes life circumstances can put you in that situation.
And comfortability also just being comfortable with just being able to do certain things on certain jobs and getting away with certain things on certain jobs that we can, you know, you can get maybe about 30, 40 hours an hour on a job. And another company that's going to probably force you to do the way more than what you're doing it, the company that you are. So sometimes it's not always a reason why I was else in certain situations. Okay.
So Keanu joined us. Um, Keanu, we were talking about potential versus performance again paid off as far as like a career. Like, why is it that? Why does it seem that when you're working for a company that is black people, we don't get what we're worst or we don't get paid off our performance?
Are you asking me to agree with that or? Yeah, I'm asking you that. Like, even if you agree with it, or give me a question. I don't necessarily think it's I mean, in certain situations, I feel like it could potentially be true, but it's also I think the fact that people don't like, I guess black people don't necessarily play the game.
And it's necessary to play the game. And they don't want you because they want to be so woke and pro black like I can't do this that in the third that they don't want to they don't understand the whole thing is about money. And you have to play the game to achieve what you want. That's how that's my perspective on that.
So play the game. What is that? What is playing the game? I mean, that's a very, very big thing.
Um, I think it ultimately depends on the situation. Like, I had a conference there. I was at a discussion with this guy and he said that he was a what was he he was one of like their top trainers and he was bringing a lot of people in making them a lot of money and he moved up in the ranks and then he got like pretty much kicked out. And he says it's because he was black and he was winning.
And I'm like, well, if you listen to it, well, he ultimately said he goes into their meeting and was like, they were like, Oh, great. You're achieving all these things using our methods. And he was like, No, I didn't use any of your methods. I use my methods.
So then he got whatever like he wasn't the great guy anymore. And he felt it was because he was black. And he was like, if a white guy would have said that, then they would have been like, Oh, great job. I'm like, well, no, I don't think it had to do with the fact that you're black.
I think it has to do with the fact that you just ultimately told them that what they created and what their business was around was crap. And you know, something better versus presenting in a different way, regardless of your color, to make it seem like, Oh, yeah, I use you guys stuff. But I added this and that to make it seem like you still were on board, but you just had new ideas. And he felt like, no, that couldn't be it.
And he was black. So I was saying like, you have to play the game because somebody white's not gonna go, Oh, no, I didn't use any of your old stuff. I created my own thing. They're gonna finesse it in a way like, Oh, yeah, I use what you guys taught me.
But I also added these things that could be helpful. So that's why I mean, and that's him like playing the game. Well, I understand exactly what she's saying. He uses Eric instead of his knowledge.
Precisely. And that's what that's what got him booted out of the situation. Precisely. And instead of you coming to the table and say this, listen, I use your your tactics and it didn't work as much as this.
Maybe we should implement this into the system because this is what works exactly. Or we're in with this. Right. And this is what the outcome was exactly.
This is how I made this money. And guess what? They would have used it. They would have used his tactics.
They would have put their name on top of it. Not on how you would have felt about that. Or for but it definitely arrogance and knowledge versus knowledge is totally opposite of what he thought he was going to try to achieve out of the situation. So someone told something.
When we talk about arrogance and things that are being labeled arrogant at the workplace. Do white guys get that same? Yes. As being arrogant.
Yes. From the ball from the bosses. I'm not even talking about people that don't know how they do. Yes.
They're talking about things differently. So if I'm if I'm a corporate guy, white guy, whatever you want to say, even the black men know this, like corporate guys know how to play the game. So they're not going to come at you and say, Oh, well, guess what? You've built this whole entire business based on this.
And you've made money doing it. And you think this is awesome. Now I'm going to come in here. I didn't help you build anything.
I just I'm just your employee and I'm making money. But guess what? I think everything that you built sucks. And I have something that's better.
They're not going to be like, Oh, great. Green guy, orange guy, it doesn't matter. Like you're a butt head and you just disrespected everything that I've worked on. So now I don't care what you have to say.
That's ultimately the problem with that. It wasn't because of his skin color. It was how he presented his information. I definitely agree with it.
I think, Oh, it doesn't matter what color you are. You can believe where it is arrogant. I don't I don't see a color when it comes to that. I definitely think that um, sometimes you can be in in a position to um be the top guy, but that that generates a whole different energy when it comes to somebody that's built a business on whatever their objective and your mission is.
And for you to come and tear it down negatively instead of trying to bring positive energy to the situation, it just you know, maybe implement something instead of trying to take over something that's totally different. When it comes to ever when you're being arrogant about something and hey, you can be arrogant and you know that right? You can be like your own business and arrogant and that's what the case is. You don't have to be that person on that.
If you don't abide by the missions or the purpose of the company, you can build your own exactly. You know, when I um, really like the last day, but I'm gonna give a sports for an example, I look at last days like on different days like on Tom Brady versus on Cam Newton. Like Tom Brady, he's never labeled as arrogant. Although him and Cam Newton could do the exact same thing like Cam Newton, like he lost a super bowl and like walked off from people and walked off the interview and they're like, oh, he just arrogant.
He made the crowd baby. When Tom Brady does it, they're like, oh, he's passionate. You know, he you know, he really loves the game of football and even like in boxing and combat sports, like Floyd Mayweather, he says some brass things, he speaks his mind and oh, I mean he's arrogant, you know, I hope somebody like a kind of a graduate says the worst thing to him. Oh man, he's so confident.
People should just get in on areas. Yeah, who's created an area exactly because I see both that and everyone's losing it because we're not talking about talking about the down. We're talking about yes, I feel like I feel like a lot of people have people can as arrogant. It just depends on who you're speaking to.
Um, I know a lot of people labeled McGregor as a very arrogant. I just think that he's just who you're speaking to and when you're speaking to them because I don't think either one of them are different. I think it's who's telling the story. Like if it's right going, you're based on all of this off of media.
Like media tells a story that goes along with what history has taught everybody to believe about whomever, whatever. So if you're basing everything off of that, then yeah, but I don't consider that also to be that's that's that's in a whole different realm. Like you can't compare what sports and what happens in sports to what happens in corporate because that's not I don't think that's they're on the same playing field. Like it's a whole different situation over there because first of all, like you have to work 10 times harder in corporate anyway as a person of color because you ultimately had to infiltrate that in sports and entertainment and things like that.
You were allowed to do that. So that's a whole I feel like that's just a whole different area to try to determine whether like, Oh, using that as an example for arrogance. Again, like the media is going to portray things the way that society feels they should be portrayed and they're going to continue to perpetuate that. Okay.
So do you so in order for you to make millions and or and or billions of dollars on someone like a real nice and this kind of money, do you have to have a level area? Do you think you have to have a level area? I don't think you have to have arrogance. I think you have to have knowledge and confidence confidence definitely.
So when this happen is born along to arrogance and confident within yourself. I'm bringing you to think you're just no one else can do it. You and no one else knows what's happening within. Yeah.
Instead of arrogance is when you just putting it out there like, I can do it. I didn't do this. Nobody in the world can top this but me. That's just a level in no one knows more situation.
I'm okay. So I can get with the whole nobody knows more than me. I can go with your neck. But as far as like nobody could tell me in this.
Should you feel like that? Not to need a level of confidence in order to operate. I think it's I think what so like yeah, you can say, hey, nobody can do this better than me. You feel that way.
But you still have to know that there's a chance that can happen. So then you have to still do the work. So if I'm arrogant and thinking like, Oh, nobody can do this better than me. Nobody smarter than me.
Like and thinking nobody nobody can create what I've created, then that puts me at a disadvantage because now I'm thinking everything's gonna go the way I wanted to go because I'm top dog versus knowing that there's a good chance that yeah, I've created this and I worked hard but somebody can just come up and take it from right under me. And so you still have to work regardless of where you are. And I think that's the difference between you being confident and you being arrogant. Erygus is going to tell you that you don't have to do what you did in the beginning to keep up what you have now because you're top like you nobody can beat you.
But confidence tells you, yeah, I have this and I did good and I got here. But I still have to put in work to continue to keep what I have. Totally agree. Okay.
So question the both of you guys. I'm you know, I'm a Snicks person. I'm a Snicksnicks. Do you work in a male dominated field?
No. No. Okay. Okay.
But you have a male that's not right. Okay. So if for most of them come up, do you think a male would get it before you or you'll get that for most of them before they miss me? Honestly, I won't get it before they get it.
You better say that. Why? Because she's freaking smart. I am confident in myself.
I'm gonna need to work. She's articulate. I'm gonna do the tears. I'm putting in the hours.
I'm putting in the minutes. I'm confident within myself. Yet, if I was to be a man, get that. I would not not applaud that man from saying that position.
I would be definitely his cheerleader. Yes. I feel confident within myself that I would be the person that would I'm saying the position before the male company. So, Keanu, thank you for your.
Do you work in a male dominated field? Yes. So for most of them to come up, do you think you will get it or do you think I'm in? Forget it before you.
At this time, they were probably I guess that's kind of hard for my because we have ultimately kind of seniority kind of things going on. And I'm guessing if somebody was the same, like I guess seniority level as me and there was a promotion, I'm not even I can't even really confidently say that I get it. And I don't necessarily know I wouldn't I wouldn't say like just a man but necessarily it's a whole political bull crap situation and it's like the good old boys with all you two you know versus what you do time for thing. So that's where I think they will ultimately lie.
All right. But let me also say this, not every employee or person wants to climb the corporate ladder or be at the time. Some people can just be perfectly fine being employees and have re-end their current positions. It just has zero desire on even trying to lead or be a management or any type of team.
Again, me. So why? I do. I see what supervisors have to deal with people, other supervisors.
So not only do you have to deal with your own problems, now I have to allow other people to come in here and want to me and I have to deal with their problems and take on everybody else's burdens along with the burdens that I already have. I'm golden. Like I'll deal with what I got going on here and keep it going. Like I don't want to have to deal with what I have going on while I deal with what you have going on and 10 other people.
I'm good with just doing what I got going. That's why I feel like that because I'm definitely one of the people that like I don't necessarily have a desire to climb ladders. I'm good where I am. And guess what?
I feel like that's okay because guess what? Behind ever successful person, if you want to be a leader, you want successful people behind you. People that are going to strive to be better or strive to be just as good as you. So it's nothing wrong with the other person trying to fall back and not become the supervisor because what some people cannot tolerate those type of those type of pressures.
Instead of being probably going to be the best person for the position. It just depends on where you are in life. I just have no interest in those situations. So stress this thing.
Why take on extra stress? We're going to get paid to say. I'm good. What are you getting paid for?
Ultimately get paid. That's what happens. You don't get paid. The job I have now, we get paid, yes, but we don't get paid for all of the things that we have to do with the hours that we work.
And they give little incentives where everybody's like, oh, you get that. But it's like, no, I definitely work more hours than necessary. I'm not necessarily getting paid for it. So having that yet, you'll get a little extra money, but you also get a lot of extra burden.
That's money versus convenient. I don't know. That's not always money versus peace. There you go.
Sometimes the people's way out must I would weigh the money. All money is not good money. Money versus money. Right.
No doubt. Yeah. That's the way I can make that your life. No, I mean, that goes with life.
It's not easy. It's not easy. Because if you're going to be stressed out, which oh, I'm making $3,000 more dollars a month. I think I'd rather be peaceful.
I go home and be at peace. And I have that three grand in to be stressed out. Not like can't sleep having not such a great life, but you got money, like, but you're also not able to spend it because you're working. Well, let's let's put it not about that.
Let's say you go from making $150,000 to $400,000. Let me say something. No money in the world. I would allow it.
Thank you. Because money will look good. But there's so many other things that come with it though. Like people fail to realize.
It's a responsibility to help versus wealth. Because if you're stressed, you're never able to spend money because you can get inside that concern. It's a whole not a situation. You're not sleeping and you're not knowing other things.
You're not even trying to worry about planning things to be the word about getting your job done dealing with other things. It's all kind of extra burdens that come with more money. I don't want any right. I don't want any job to have to bring home with me for spas.
No job. Yes. So describe being peaceful. I would then describe a good peaceful environment.
All peaceful jobs. That works? Yes. For me, it's like I wouldn't say my job is necessarily peaceful.
But when I leave there, I can go to my house and be by myself and be fine. That's where my piece comes in. I can hit the gym and nobody's telling me anything. I think the ultimate way for me, in my opinion, for my job to be peaceful is not to be micromanaged.
So I go to work. I get my work done. My supervisor is fine with that. He might not know where I am 24-7, but he knows I'm going to get my work done.
So I think allowing me to do what I need to do to get my job done ultimately makes it peaceful to me. Snitch. Anything that I do, if I leave at five, I want to be able to leave it there at five. I don't want to get in my car or get to my children thinking about work.
I want to be able to decompress and focus on what's in front of me, which is my children and my home. I don't want to take absolutely anything home that's going to stress me out. That's going to interfere with anything that goes on in my home. So it can be $450,000 more than what I was making.
But if I come home and I'm not happy, what do they work? Snaps. So I think I don't want to start gender-wise. I hate that.
Do you hate that? Do you hate that? Do you really hate that? I was told.
I was told. That you were a chauvinist. No, I don't think that's true. I don't know.
I'm not that. However, I was told that you were going to be exposed to getting you together. I said, this is true. Anyway, though, I think as a man, I think it's ingrained in us to want to climb higher, just being able to protect and provide for our families.
So when you guys say that you don't want to move up, I'm kind of sensing like it's almost like a female thing. I think anyone said they didn't want to move up. But you got to say that you want to be less stressed. But even when we talk about pain, the face yell and things like that, studies have shown, this is not me saying this, studies have shown that men make more in corporate America because of the testosterone and they're able to deal with stress.
I didn't see that study. I never seen that study. Never. I'll give it to you.
Please do it. I never saw that it had anything to do with testosterone, helping them in corporate America. I definitely can but say this, it's probably they strive to do better at work so they can stay at work so they won't have to come home and deal with homelesselle. Wait hold on.
One more time. I kind of got it, but I did do whole thing. I feel like something strives to get above the ladder so it's more world-class responsiveness is down. You're saying that I mean once the clown lady have responsibilities that were make more money for his family, just so you don't have to deal with responsibility to their home.
Yes, I've seen it. Such as? They don't want to be with the children? They don't want to be with the wife?
They don't want to be with the wife? The wife? They don't want to be with the wife? Why do we have to deal with our wife?
Why can't we just be living in peace with our woman? Exactly. That's a whole lot of happiness. Why is that a whole lot of happiness?
How is that a whole lot of happiness? Because these are the words that this is what how it goes. They don't want to deal with. This is thanks that I've seen her in Whitney's book.
Well, we must, we must, we must, we must, we must, talk about it. That's not the topic that we're on. Talk about it. Let's go.
But we are. This is part of the topic. Let's talk about it. Let's talk about men want to climb the ladder in order to avoid the walking and walking to the home.
I don't want to, yeah, I don't want to deeply get into the conversation because it becomes the whole other topic. But what I can tell you is that it, that I know for sure that this, this happens and women click their family and their household first. And women click their first. Thanks.
Just about to say that. Because we have to protect you from the things you do. But wait, you keep, you keep, you keep, yeah, you keep going back to the whole. Listen, listen, listen, listen to the thing though.
Listen to the thing. Women, I want women to understand something. Men should act like you or think like you. Y'all know that, right?
They should act like you or something like that. They shouldn't. They shouldn't. Oh, a lot of women to think like me.
Oh, they act like you guys. I had the same feelings as you guys. Y'all know that. What do you mean?
Like feelings? What do you mean? What do you tell us? People have feelings regardless of gender.
And it's okay to have them regardless of gender. Society has taught you this thing. And now you're all up on it. And like you feel like there could be no kind of overlap between man and woman.
And if so, man is I, you punk, like I don't get it. So what you're telling me is that a man should have the same emotional component as a woman. That's what I'm telling you. Oh, you're talking about it.
I'm talking about it. I'm talking about it. I'm talking about it. I'm not all over the map.
When I say about feelings, you took it somewhere else. When I was saying was, what I was saying was, like y'all had to realize that we're not going to feel the same way as you guys. Like if you're saying that women are going to put their families and everything first, the men are putting their families first by providing for them, by being able to provide for them. I'm going to go with the cave man.
Go up again. That's what I'm saying. That's the cave man. Yes.
Can I talk? Can I talk to you? Yeah. So you keep trying to throw out like, oh, we're going to make money for our family.
We're going to make money to provide to protect. So this is the thing. Nowadays, women are out there working just like the man. Typically a man can't fully provide for the family in this day and age by himself.
So he needs the assistance from his wife in which he also wants her to do everything from the 20s plus go out and help me create this household and make sure there's enough money. Yeah, you're claiming that you're climbing this ladder to make more money so that you can have more protection power, whatever. I don't know. But at the end of it, if you guys are both making enough money to provide for your household, what is then the need for you to climb all of these ladders?
It's for societal looks. You're climbing and making all this extra money for the looks of it. It's not for the protection because you're already protecting for your family. If you had zero dollars, that would be what you do because that's what men are taught to do.
That's innate in men to protect for their family. So you can have no money. You can be living on the streets and protect your family. You can't provide.
You can do that with no money. Don't listen. Don't listen. Either cave man going out getting food and quality.
Okay, so listen. Okay, so listen. I heard some hand claps and other lists. So listen, check this out.
That because it was like going, oh, I just want to. That is what I just want to say. I just want to put something. Just face something.
When you say that, oh, the women are working just as hard as men. Okay. You mean how not? How?
No, just try it. Are we talking about money? Are we talking about money? What else do we mean?
Listen, listen, listen, you guys. But we say that you just challenge us. We both make a substantial amount of money. What's the success of my money?
Put it number on it. You can't put it. You can't put it. You can't put it.
You can't put it. You can't put it. You can't put it. You can't put it.
You can't put it. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on.
Hold on. Hold on. The lifestyle that you desire is the according to the money that you make. Everybody doesn't have the same lifestyle desire.
So you can't put a dollar on it. Somebody that's making $80,000 a year within the household can be sufficient. What they like. Because money does not make everybody happy and money doesn't make you.
Better. You know. No, nobody's saying nobody's going to make you happy. No.
But I'm saying is as far as, wait, listen, where I'm saying is like as far as like medical bills and things like that. And what if somebody goes down and you need that person, you want to be able to be a little comfortable. Where else somebody gets real sick? No.
You know what I'm saying? But do you give what I'm saying? No. So people don't need money.
What if you don't need money to be money to be money to be money? I'm going to say $80. I'm what? Eight a year can be substantial.
We put a number on what. It depends on what type of like, so we're not going to say of substantial amount of money. Because it's a bad. It's a bad.
It's a bad. It's just depends. It's like. I never said it's a natural.
I just said that both people are making enough money to maintain the household. So I'm saying what's the number on what it is? You can't put a number on it. You cannot.
How can you not say that? You have to, though. No, you cannot. You have to.
That's why. You're like, you're okay, wait, wearing. And I'm not being too funny. I'm saying you're like, I can be one more.
And such and such and such. And you can get your bill. And you can still have home and equity. And how is it was it?
You got it. You can't put a number on what's best for someone's household. You can't put a number. I don't know if this household has one child, two children, three children, two children.
I don't want to. There's no way to put a number on determining what a household would be good at. Being that smart people can make whatever amount of money that they're making work for them. I've had to live paycheck to paycheck and what's fine.
Then I got more money and was still fine. But still living like I was living paycheck to paycheck. So saying like, oh, this amount of money will make everything better. Like she said, it can't be done.
It's a matter of those two people maintaining their household. You can have a household that has a light bill of $1,000. And I have a $50 one. But my bills are paying.
There's a book from my head. People are being said everything like that. You guys, you guys, numbers are the only thing that separates real evidence from emotion. OK.
So when we talk to numbers, it's all just going to put that out there. When we talk to numbers, that's the only thing that separates real real estate from emotion. OK. It's not negative.
That's why they have the phrase, people are. That's not what that's the way. That's not what that's not. That's the way.
OK. OK. Here's the number. $40,000.
Look, $40,000. Everybody's making $40,000. Yay. That's a substantial amount of money.
$40,000. No, it's not. I don't know. I'm speaking.
No, no, no. I'm speaking. When you say $40,000, I just want to get rid of what it's going to be about. $40,000.
No, it's not. Your substantial amount is $1 billion in a trillion that normal people aren't making. Because most of us are blue collars. Why?
Why? Because I know tires like that. Why? I'm asking.
I'm asking with the. Hold up. Let's see the rebuttal. I want to hear it.
No. OK. So, but especially if you have. OK, so let's say, you know, like, this is the first in decades.
I'm talking about my. OK. So, what a general number out. We can't put a general number out because every number is not like for every situation.
Precisely, but he doesn't want to choose that. So, what's your substantial amount of tire? That's the amount of money. I don't know how many people you want.
You want numbers, so give us a number. So we talk about a family unit. I mean, like a substantial amount of money for you. You're a little comfortable.
Two hundred fifty thousand, especially in Louisiana. Two hundred fifty thousand a year. That'll be something. That'll be something.
You can make this. Who's making this? One person is making this together. Oh, you're making a hundred and sixty thousand dollars a year?
Not yet. OK. So, listen, are you living? Are you building?
Yes. Are you staying here? Are you comfortable? Yes.
Yes. No. Everybody and like, once more. That's a whole different situation.
Because I can make a billion dollars a year. Ten billion dollars. But what I'm saying is, let's not put pressure on someone stating that the only way they're making substantial amount of money is if they're making billions of dollars. Everybody in the world wants more.
That's just people period. You can buy a house. But I think it's a challenge. And have everything in it.
But something in your mind is going to tell you, I need a third floor. Because I just don't want two floors. Everybody wants more in life period. But that does not make them uncomfortable.
It just makes them try to want more. But who's saying that? I'm putting pressure on people. No, no, no, no.
I'm just stating. I'm not saying you are. I'm just saying that I put numbers on. Yeah.
That was a general statement. Okay. All right. Oh, yeah.
Two women today. No, they're all the different things. I don't know if I can. What about Keanu?
Anyway, nothing. That was a jab at Keanu. No, Keanu. Thank you.
Just like, they do just say that because I had to bring you back down. We get out. We get out. We get out.
We get out. We get out. We get out. Everybody, that's just a point of stance.
Everyone opinions. Yeah, let's get back on this topic. Yeah, let's respect each other. Yes.
Okay. That's nice. As I was saying, though, let's get back on. As far as, as far as like for potential goals, though, do you think you guys would be able to get your jobs that you currently at right now?
Or based off your potential? Or what? I think I got my job off of potential. To be honest with you.
When I first got the job, it definitely was off of me saying what I could provide for the company. Mostly that's the biggest question that they asked. What can you bring to the company? I definitely think I did it off of potential instead of performance because they didn't really know what I can do.
But they did watch me for one year on another side. So maybe a possibility performance. They saw what I did on that side and kind of worked. But I mean, they didn't know what I can do on that, you know, on that room of the job.
They only saw one other side. I think a lot of jobs pick people off of potential. I think there's, you may have performance somewhere else and they may see the potential of that performance working with what they have. So like, everybody doesn't go on a job having the experience of that job.
So ultimately it's off the potential that you will work here and you will fit with what we have going on based off of performances, maybe somewhere else. You might not perform this job specifically because there have been many jobs that I didn't have prior experience with. And they were like, well, you seem like a good worker. You seem like you'll be able to do the job.
So then I get hired and then I exceed, of course. And then there you go. So I think most most companies hire people based on, I would say both, but there is definitely that potential that you will be able to fit work well with what we have going on here, just based off of what I've seen. You do otherwise with your people's resume.
So tell me how you guys, what would be the perfect job for you guys? I mean, I described like the perfect job. Perfect job for me. We work it for myself.
Describe it. Okay. My own business owner, you know, all my own business. I can be home with my kids sometimes.
I spend time with them. Actually, you know what? We're working towards that right now. So I think that would be perfect for me because I have three beautiful kids that are hired.
I can feel like I'm missing a lot being on the job. A lot. So my perfect job would actually be being my own boss. Um, I like what I do now.
I just would like to also have some passive, like income working for myself as well, but I don't have a problem with working for someone. I just also like to be able to establish my own kind of situation. I think that would be my perfect balance, I guess. Okay.
Let me take the time to apologize for you both. I think I was, I think in a misadict conversation, I was interrupting you both. And I'm sorry about that. I think this was actually a good one.
Yes. Yes. It always is when people join us. Okay.
But anyway, we're about to do it again. I already got here. My first next. Oh, my son.
I can't. We need to drive it. People Monday, Monday, Monday. So excited.
So excited. Okay. So they'll be able to look it up on Apple. You're going to be streaming all over just like this one anchor.
Okay. So I'll be out with doing kind of a lot of promo. For you guys to listen, it's called Snicks at Night. We'll be on Monday nights.
Okay. So, um, yeah. Eight o'clock. All right.
Eight o'clock Monday nights. So, so I'm going to need you to drop that. Give me that link so I can put it on the page. I think there's going to be, I think there's going to be very big.
I want to need all my listeners to go look up. Snicks at night is going to be big. You want to be disappointed as you can see. She's great.
She's very talented. She's going to go. Okay. But before we got here, you know, I like, um, be with some positive.
So Nick, tell us something. What is the thing with the thing with the proactive and reactive? Always be a pro expert person, but if you're playing, don't wait on the one because no one will wait on you. Keep it positive.
Be aggressive ladies for any and everything that you want in life. I was not prepared for this. Why did you do that? Stay positive and meet yourself.
And my would be, uh, that would be be creative. create or they create. And I have a lot going on. So, you know, this is what I'm trying to do.
But thank all my listeners out there for joining us. Good night. We just spoke truth to power. We just have a good night.
Good night.
