First, The plaintiff allowed her cousin, the defendant, to borrow her car. The defendant then hit a ditch and totaled the vehicle, so the plaintiff is suing for damages. The defendant admits he got into an accident and wrecked the vehicle, but it wasn’t intentional. The defendant is countersuing because he says the plaintiff lied to his wife and falsely accused him of cheating. Then, The plaintiff used to be good friends with the defendant until he found out the defendant was taking advantage of him. The plaintiff rented a trailer after the defendant had moved out of the place, but the defendant failed to pay utility bills the last few weeks he was living there, and the power was shut off due to the unpaid balance. The plaintiff is suing his former friend for the utility bills. The defendant insists the plaintiff is the one who didn’t pay the utility bills. Plus, The plaintiff dated the defendant off and on. The plaintiff provided the defendant with multiple loans to help him pay for medical bills and personal expenses, but he hasn’t yet paid it back, so the plaintiff is suing.
