This January, as the country observes National Poverty Month, we ask how it is that the wealthiest nation in the world manages to rank 79th out of 91 countries in terms of poverty, according to the World Population Review. Economist Marianne Page, one of the country’s leading experts on the subject, sits down with Ed for an eye-opening chat about its causes, effects, and possible remedies. She has served as principal investigator on grants from the National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
