House hacking is one thing, farm hacking is taking it to a whole new level. Paul Windemuller talks today about how he rents out parts of his farm to different people. Paul grew up in a small town in west Michigan and dreamed of being a business owner and farmer since he was 3 years old. His passion for farming came from talking to the farmers that came into his parents’ farm equipment dealership. Growing up Paul had several businesses and worked on neighboring farms until he went to college to study Agribusiness Management. That led him on his journey to move to New Zealand and work for his mentor in the dairy industry. When he returned from New Zealand Paul had a beautiful wife, a child and only $2,000 to start over in the US. Within 2 years Paul and his wife started a dairy farm from scratch and grew it to a successful business over the last 8 years. Not only does he own Dream Winds Dairy, but in 2021, Paul started Open Sky Agribusiness, a consultancy that helps others manage risk in their agriculturally based businesses and investments.
