Power cut, 40 years of marriage & free books

from Gibraltar Today

A major power cut in the early hours of the morning left areas in the city centre, upper town and east side without electricity for the whole morning. Power was returned to most areas by about 1230. Our producer Kelly Anne Borge talked to us about the impact on businesses and on people who use medical equipment at home to support their breathing when they sleep. We had a really special moment on Friday. Paul and Chutti Lyon joined us in the studio to discuss the secrets to a successful, lifelong partnership. They were celebrating 40 years of marriage by renewing their vows. We played them their wedding song. They danced. It was beautiful. After you listen to this podcast, please go to Radio Gibraltar's socials to see that. And, if one of your new’s year resolutions this year was to read more, you’ll want to hear what Davina Barbara of Cultural Services had to say about BorrowBox.
