Johnnie is a 2017 Pat Tillman Foundation Tillman Scholar and a 2019 Warhorse Jounal Combat Medic and Corpsman writing fellow. Johnnie completed a fellowship in Emergency Medicine and an NIH Bioterrorism and Emerging Infectious Diseases fellowship as well. Johnnie served as a U.S. Navy FMF Hospital Corpsman with Golf Company, Battalion Landing Team 2/8, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEUSOC).
