Power Play

It's a big action scene episode with no idea in it, but it's clever and tense and I had no idea what was going to happen next. Not every episode of Star Trek should be like this, but I'm glad we get these sometimes. I just love that Marina Sirtis and Brent Spiner get to do stuff like this that's so different than their regular characters. It's a shame that "Captain Schumar" has so much more character and presence than Troi does; it drives home how little Sirtis gets to work with. If Star Trek is going to be a series that's about action and big ideas and science, isn't ok cool if every so often it leans extra hard into one or two of those ideas and forgets one or two of them?
