POYA - Dhamma Q&A - 28 January 2021

from Sutta Meditation Series · host Sutta Meditation Series

Welcome back to the Sutta Meditation Series Podcast. This is an edited version of the second session conducted on poya full moon, 28 January 2021, specifically the questions from grandparents, parents and children and corresponding answers. The meditation periods have been purposely omitted from this recording. Q1 - What's the best way to share Dhamma with kids?  Q2 - If you're a grandparent, and the parents of your grandkids don't want you share Dhamma with them, or have specific requirements on how or what parts of Dhamma are shared with them, how do you handle that? Q3 - Were there only 28 Buddhas? Q4 - Is is true that in the past lifespan was as much as 40,000 years? Q5 - A lioness killing an animal for food vs a poacher killing an animal to make money - do they accrue the same amount of bad kamma? And, will the lioness be reborn as a human in the future after killing so many animals? Q6 - How do you guide a child who is hyper, even to calm down and listen? The Global Group Metta Meditation that was mentioned towards the end - the times (Sri Lankan) are 5.00-5.30am; 4.30-5.00pm; and 9.00-9.30pm. You most welcome to join (as well as start earlier or extend the meditation period). Simply convert the times to your timezone and if you are free, be part of the "safe cushion" that wishes safety and wellbeing to everyone.
