Not being a native Greek speaker, I was thankful for a parishioner who reminded me during the fellowship hour after church that I had forgotten to adjust my pronunciation of the Greek word to account for grammatical case. In the epistle, the line reads: Ἕως ἔρχομαι πρόσεχε τῇ ἀναγνώσει, τῇ παρακλήσει, τῇ διδασκαλίᾳ. In the nominative case, the word is παράκλησις, with the accent on the second and not the third syllable. I apologize to the Greek listeners, for whom the mispronunciation of their beloved mother tongue can feel like nails on a chalkboard. Please continue to offer your corrections, for feedback helps make these better! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
