Here the Beckies chat about this interesting and sometimes controversial subject about Praise and Rewards in Early Years and for life.  Let's explore what is actually happening when we praise children?Children's self esteem and confidence needs to be enabled for them to thrive, but how do we do this with them to help their sense of self?What are we measuring the child by ?Do we want children to conform ?We must work with individual  ideas from the child and see what they need to do for themselves, so that they are empowered for who they are and what they choose ! Children  will gain far more from their self-achievement and believing in themselves and this will last a life time. Be kind and try not to measure children by what we think they should be able to do. It is their life it is their journey give them the tools to live it.We want all children to intrinsically think for themselves and not just learn by trying to please people.  We want all children to know that they are enough.Love The Beckies www.thrivinglanguage.co.ukOnline training, Podcasts, Virtual EY Conferences and Training.
