Isaiah 63 is not gentle imagery, and that is exactly why it wakes us up when we are tempted to shrink God down to something we can manage.We follow Pastor Carl through Isaiah’s vivid prophecy of a figure returning from Edom, “mighty to save,” and we ask the hard questions it raises about the second coming of Jesus, the holiness of God, and the reality of wrath against evil.
