Praise Him in the Dance

from Walk With Me #Deararn. · host anne ajadi

PRAISE HIM IN THE DANCE They had seen enough to know that God was on their side. They got paid in arrears for all those years of slaving for the Egyptians. They heard stories of how they got to Egypt in the first place. Only the hand of God could have made it possible. And since the whole story of leaving Egypt for the Promised Land began, they had seen enough wonders to believe without any shadow of a doubt that Jehovah was indeed God. Their release was the most dramatic; imagine the king that has stubbornly refused their exit for so long thrusting them all out in one night! Unimaginable! But that is the God that had come to be their God. They left with their all; nothing was spared and having gone through so much, they believed the ride would undoubtedly be smooth until they got to the Red Sea. By then, the Egyptians were in hot pursuit and confronting them was the Red Sea. They must have wondered to no end what it all meant. They had the promise of freedom from God, for crying out loud! They were sure that Pharaoh ordered their release from Egypt. The brief was that they were at liberty to worship their God in the wilderness. Certainly, the sea could not have been part of the deal? But part, it was. God needed to shut Pharaoh up for good and what better way to do it than to let him and all his cohorts perish where there would be no remedy? For the Israelites, this was a catch 22-situation and how to escape? Only God could determine. He did say something. He told Moses to stretch out his rod, and the result, the sea parted in two. Suddenly there was a pathway, and they could walk on dry ground, with water pillars on both sides. The bond masters followed and perished in the very place that the children of Israel walked through. Amazing! (Exodus 11-15) You know there is a God who rules in the affairs of men. You have seen His mighty power, you have His promise of a better future. But the problem you are facing has lasted too long. Your parents and their parents suffered same and you wonder how long. Worry no more my friend, you are about to get double for your trouble. The mighty hand of God is stretched out in your favour. Dance my dear, dance, the Lord of hosts is leading you in the battle. Sing beloved sing, the song of victory. Your years of slavery are over, Pharaoh and his armies are about to drown in the sea that was supposed to stop you but has now become your highway. Shout, my dear shout, your freedom is here! March on, the promised land is just ahead of you Then Moses and the people of Israel sang this song to the LORD: “I will sing to the LORD, for he has triumphed gloriously; he has hurled both horse and rider into the sea. The LORD is my strength and my song; he has given me victory. This is my God, and I will praise him— my father’s God, and I will exalt him! The LORD is a warrior; Yahweh is his name! Pharaoh’s chariots and army he has hurled into the sea. The finest of Pharaoh’s officers are drowned in the Red Sea. The deep waters gushed over them; they sank to the bottom like a stone. Exodus 15:1ff Then Moses and the people of Israel sang this song to the LORD: “I will sing to the LORD, for he has triumphed gloriously; he has hurled both horse and rider into the sea. The LORD is my strength and my song; he has given me victory. This is my God, and I will praise him— my father’s God, and I will exalt him! The LORD is a warrior; Yahweh is his name!
