Pratah smaranam verse 3, line 1

The Brahman / Atman is likened to the light that shines but it is superior to the sun. The sun can illuminate objects but it can never illuminate darkness. But the Atman illuminates not only the knowledge we have, but also the ignorance. We know what we know (eg I speak 4 languages) and we also know what we don’t know (eg there are so many other languages and I don’t know them!). The example of the sun is good to understand....but we have to recognize that it is an example only, because Atman has infinite powers.
