Pray for the Spirit of Discernment - 1-10-21

The Scripture texts are Jeremiah 28.1-3, 10-17 and 1John 2.18-27 from the thought "Pray for the Spirit of Discernment". Three principles we can glean from Jeremiah 28:1. Discerning people understand that repetition of a lie does not make it true!A lie will not turn into the truth. Repetition of a lie does NOT make it TRUTH! The false prophet Hananiah kept repeating the lie about the impending Babylonian captivity not happening. The people wanted to hear that. Soon they discovered that the repeated lie did NOT become the truth. Many wanted to believe the repetitious lie that the virus would just go away. It has not. 2. Discerning people understand that BELIEVING the LIE can lead to DESTRUCTIVE behavior!Hananiah lied to the people and they believed him and allied with the wrong nation. Over 21 million Americans have contracted COVID-19 and more than 365,000 people have died as of January 9, 2021. The US LEADER spread lies about this deadly virus, that it would just go away. He also spread lies about the election being stolen. The lies caused riots.3. Discerning people understand that PROPAGATORS of the LIE will eventually fall.WOE to leaders that LEAD people astray! How many hear a lie, know it is a lie, and STILL support the lie? We MUST live a life of UNCOMPROMISING INTEGRITY! God will take care of UNGODLY, WICKED people and LEADERS! Walk NOT in the counsel of the UNGODLY!DO NOT allow others to PROGRAM us! Know the TRUTH of GOD! Pray for the SPIRIT of DISCERNMENT! We will not believe the HYPE (LIE). We will not be bamboozled or hoodwinked! LORD, give us the SPIRIT of DISCERNMENT!
