Prayer

from Open House Church Sermons · host KJ Tromp

An enemy may be a stranger, but hurt and bitterness often grow from betrayal by someone deeply loved. Jesus commands His disciples to love people who hate, curse, mistreat, strike, or steal from them, and He makes prayer a concrete way to do good. Prayer brings wounded hearts honestly before God. Only God can redeem sinners, and He changes those who pray as they ask Him to change their enemies. Jesus grounds this love by praying for forgiveness from the cross and dying for sinners.
