Prayer against gluttony Heavenly Father You are the bread of life and the living water You alone can truly satisfy the longings of my soul I come to You confessing that I have sought comfort and fulfillment in food and indulgence instead of in You Forgive me Lord for turning to excess when I should have turned to prayer Forgive the times I fed my flesh while neglecting my spirit Teach me the beauty of discipline the power of restraint and the freedom that comes from self-control Help me to treat my body as Your temple not to abuse it through overindulgence but to honor You through balance gratitude and mindful living Replace unhealthy cravings with a deeper hunger for Your Word And give me strength to say no when temptation arises Let my appetites be shaped by wisdom not by impulse Father renew my heart and mind and help me live in a way that brings glory to You in all things even in how I eat and care for myself Do not join those who drink too much wine or gorge themselves on meat For drunkards and gluttons become poor And drowsiness clothes them in rags In the name of Jesus who fasted and prayed I ask for Your help and grace Amen
