Prayer against presumptuous sin Heavenly Father I come before you with a humble and repentant heart asking you to search me and know me Your word warns in Psalm 19:13 "Keep back your servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me Then I shall be blameless and I shall be innocent of great transgression." Lord I ask you to restrain me from every willful and arrogant sin that rises up in pride and self-dependence Forgive me Father for the times I have knowingly stepped outside of your will justifying my actions or ignoring the conviction of your spirit I do not want to walk in self-righteousness but in the fear of the Lord which is the beginning of wisdom Proverbs 9:10 Your word says in Numbers 15:30-31 that "The person who does anything presumptuously brings reproach on the Lord." Lord let me never take your grace for granted or treat your commands lightly Help me to walk in reverence submission and humility Create in me a clean heart oh God and renew a right spirit within me Psalm 51:10 Help me not to trust in my own understanding but to acknowledge you in all my ways Proverbs 3:5-6 so that I will not fall into sin through pride or careless disobedience Reveal to me Lord any area where I am blind to my own faults Let me not deceive myself or harden my heart for your word says in Hebrews 3:13 "Exhort one another daily lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin." Clothe me with humility for you resist the proud but give grace to the humble James 4:6 Lead me by your spirit so I will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh Galatians 5:16 And teach me to delight in doing your will oh God I declare that sin shall not have dominion over me for I am not under law but under grace Romans 6:14 Strengthen me to walk in obedience holiness and truth not by my power but by yours Thank you Father for your mercy and for correcting those you love Keep me from wandering and let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight oh Lord my rock and my redeemer Psalm 19:14 In Jesus' holy name amen
