Prayer Against Pride

Prayer against pride Heavenly Father I come before You with a sincere and humble heart recognizing that pride is a sin that separates me from You Your word says in Proverbs 16:18 "Pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall." Lord I do not want to walk in pride or arrogance I ask You to search my heart and remove any spirit of pride that tries to take root in me "You resist the proud but give grace to the humble," as written in James 4:6 I choose humility Lord I submit myself under Your mighty hand so that in due time You may lift me up first Peter 5:6 Help me to esteem others better than myself and to walk in love and service just as Christ did Your word says in Proverbs 8:13 "The fear of the Lord is to hate evil Pride and arrogance and the evil way and the perverse mouth I hate." Give me a holy hatred for pride and all that comes with it selfish ambition comparison boasting and rebellion Lord You have said in Micah 6:8 that You require me to do justly to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God Teach me to walk in true humility not weakness but strength under control and full dependence on You Let me always remember John 15:5 "Apart from me You can do nothing." Everything I have and everything I am is because of You Lord Keep me from ever thinking that I can succeed or grow apart from Your grace and presence Help me to follow the example of Jesus who made Himself of no reputation and humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death Philippians 2:7-8 Let the same mindset be in me Father I renounce pride in all its forms spiritual pride intellectual pride and pride of appearance achievements or position Cleanse me and clothe me in the humility of Christ Thank You for Your mercy and thank You for transforming my heart Let everything I do reflect Your glory not my own In Jesus' name I pray
