Prayer Guide Breakdown

This week, Pastor Zach and Josh break down the Prayer Guide that was given to Growth Group Leaders at Soteria Church for October 29, 2023. As the conclusion for Missions Month at Soteria Church, the guide was given to help Growth Group Leaders facilitate an evening of prayer with their groups. The Prayer Guide discussed is as follows: October is Missions Month at Soteria. We've introduced new missionaries, heard from longtime missionaries, and partnered in creative ways to share the gospel. For this week's growth group study, let's simply take time to read Scripture and pray for missions. You can learn how to contact Soteria's missionaries and learn more about our local missions efforts at www.soteriadsm.com/missions. THE PRAYER OF JESUS 1. Begin by having someone share his or her testimony in order to remember the power of the gospel in our own lives. 2. Read and be comforted by Jesus' prayer for his followers in John 17. THE PEACE OF JERUSALEM 3. Read Psalm 122 and pray for the peace of Jerusalem. THE PERSECUTED CHURCH "If the world hates you, understand that it hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own. However, because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of it, the world hates you. Remember the word I spoke to you: 'A servant is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you" (John 15:18-20). 4. Pray for boldness, unity, peace, safety, and basic provisions for persecuted believers around the world. MISSIONS AT SOTERIA "Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.
