Prayer | Randy Leadbetter

from FBC Clarion Sermons · host FBC Clarion

I have questions: Can I Change God's mind? Close Eyes bow head? Why am I not interested? Does prayer work? In His will? Can I really move a mountain? Is more better? If God knows everything, why pray? Is praying together necessary? Didn't Jesus pray in private? Persist or not?   Don't let anything stop you from playing!  Commanded by scripture to pray. Philippians 4:4-7 - Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. 5 Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; 6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. I can pray. Just like Jesus, he prayed Luke 3:21 - Now when all the people were baptized, and when Jesus also had been baptized and was praying, the heavens were opened. Praying private, but his disciples were with him. Prayer is simply talking to God.  Sin separates us from God. Matthew 4:23 - And he went throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction among the people. Luke 9:18 - Now it happened that as he was praying alone, the disciples were with him. And he asked them, “Who do the crowds say that I am?” Tip #1  Be Real.  Talk to him from your heart.   Tip #2 Pray from God's Perspective         Tip #3 Wrong Motives and Sin are a barrier to God answering my prayers. Wrong Motives   2. Malice/Sin in heart  3. Understanding way Doubt   5. Reject God's Word Tip #4  Pray with the Bible. Tip #5  Pray alone and with others. Prayer may be the best spiritual mirror. Do you ever just let God love you? Will you devote to pray?  Devote 180
