Dr. Jim Lockard 2:51Lockard joined the Science of Mind in 1989 while a Miami-Dade police officer. After retiring, he founded a church in Baltimore in 1996, served in Fort Lauderdale and California, and was on Religious Science International’s Board (2003-2012). Retiring in 2015, he traveled before settling in Lyon, France.Books and Blog 5:03Lockard presented his recent books, Being the Beloved Community and *Creating the Beloved Community*, on cultural change. He writes a bi-monthly blog on spiritual leadership and Science of Mind. An earlier book, *Survival Thinking for Law Enforcement and Corrections Officers*, was also mentioned.Prayer in Daily Life 6:40Lockard compared spiritual practice to a musician's daily scales, essential regardless of skill. He practices every morning and sometimes during the day, stressing a beginner's mind in each treatment and warning that assuming mastery breeds complacency.Morning Spiritual Practice 9:06Lockard’s morning practice evolved from meditating 30 minutes on five or six issues to using the waking-sleeping transition for reflection, treatments, inspirational reading, and background music. Some treatments help him stay informed on world events while maintaining spiritual grounding.Tangible Results and Evolution of Prayer 11:58Lockard shifted from petitionary prayer asking God to change circumstances to a mature practice focused on internal transformation. He views Spiritual Mind Treatment as a powerful psychological tool, emphasizing that consciousness shapes reality rather than the universe changing on demand.Teaching Techniques for Spiritual Mind Treatment 15:43Lockard’s hybrid model adds denial and reaffirmation steps within each phase, stopping to challenge limiting beliefs with self-compassion. Treatments can last up to 90 minutes when resistance is strong. He warns that without genuine emotional engagement, treatments lack effectiveness, comparing rote practice to childhood prayers.Application in Law Enforcement; 21:15Lockard used treatment during midnight shifts and taught self-image psychology at the Miami-Dade Police Academy. Affirmation training reduced washouts from 25% to nearly zero. Officers visualized safety and recovery; one used this to survive a severe accident. However, visualizing funerals increased shock risk.Prayers Radio.com 24/7, is a non-denominational spiritual radio station dedicated to providing continuous spiritual prayer for individuals of all faiths.
