PRAYING FOR HELP AGAINST OUR ENEMIES
from Rev. Esmie Rodriguez Hosted by Esmie Rodriguez
The Word of the Lord tells us in Matthew 7:7 - "ask and it shall be given you, seek and you shall find knock and it shall be open unto you." You see first we ask, then we seek and last we knock. To ask is to pray in a common way, to seek is to supplicate in a specific way, and to knock is to demand in the most intimate and most earnest way possible. In our asking we will receive. This is God's great promise to us. Such a promise affirms that the kingdom people of God are being cared for and supplied by our heavenly Father. In Philippians 4:6-7 we are commanded to not be anxious about anything but in everything by prayer and petition with Thanksgiving present a request to God. And the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard our hearts and our minds in Christ Jesus. Our prayer and our petition should be accompanied by our always giving thanks to the Lord. When we practice fellowship with God in prayer, we get to enjoy the peace of God. His peace is infused into us through our fellowship with Him right by prayer as the counterpoise to our troubles and it's the antidote to anxiety. God is our peace and our refuge. When we are oppressed He's our stronghold and our times of trouble and it is by His agape unfailing love for us that brings us comfort in our hurt, healing in our sicknesses, He gives us perseverance to endure and the ability to withstand hardships or adversity.
