Praying for the Nation
from Ramah Baptist Church Hosted by Ramah Baptist Church
This is the morning sermon at Ramah Baptist Church in Palmetto, GA on July 5, 2026. In this sermon from 1 Timothy 2:1–8, we consider God’s call to pray for those in positions of authority. At a time when political division often fuels anxiety, anger, or apathy, Paul reminds believers that prayer is our first response. Christians are to offer petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings for kings and all who are in authority—not because every ruler is righteous, but because God is sovereign over every nation. This passage also directs our attention to the heart of the gospel: God desires people from every nation to be saved, and there is one Mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.
