PRAYING IN THE NAME OF JESUS!

from The Kingdom Of God First Podcast. · host Tewe Kolade Felix

Scripture: "And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it." — John 14:13–14 (NIV) Message: There is power in the name of Jesus. When we pray in His name, we’re not just adding a closing line to our requests—we’re aligning ourselves with His will, His authority, and His character. To pray in Jesus’ name means to come before the Father not based on our merit, but through the righteousness and access Jesus has given us. Jesus assures us in John 14:13–14 that when we pray in His name, He will act in ways that glorify the Father. That doesn't mean we can use His name to demand our desires, but rather that our prayers should reflect His heart. It’s about trust, humility, and a deep relationship with the One who mediates on our behalf. When we understand the significance of praying in Jesus’ name, our faith grows. We pray with confidence, not because we are worthy, but because Jesus is. His name carries the weight of heaven, and through it, miracles happen, lives are changed, and peace is found. Today, ask yourself: Do I truly understand the power and purpose of praying in Jesus’ name? Am I seeking to align my prayers with His will and glory? Prayer: Almighty Father, thank You for the privilege of praying in the name of Jesus. Help me to understand its power and meaning. Align my heart with Yours so that my prayers bring You glory. Teach me to trust fully in the name that is above every name—Jesus. Amen.
