On the evening of April 7th, 2006, Matt Baker, a Baptist preacher from the small town of Hewitt, Texas, goes out to get gas and rent a movie for the night. When he returns home, he finds his wife, Kari Baker, dead in bed with a suicide note nearby. Local authorities rule it a suicide, but Linda Dulin, Kari's mother, and her family begin their own investigation.
