Following last year's ʻʻCycle Of Doomʼʼ EP, the Greek producer returns to the label for his first release of 2024. Dry loopy techno, composed with classic techniques, yet designed for the modern dancefloor...the ʻFutur Akustikʼ release finds Endlec returning to a sound that has defined him earlier in his career and showcases the producerʼs knack for memorable sonic designs and admirable studio prowess. Minimal in its components and pristine in the sound processing, the listener is presented with a cohesive collection of classic techno tracks that blend a mix of raw, percussive, driving elements and powerful kick drums with ever-dominant synth lines, providing a sense of intensity and raw emotion to all cuts, while straightforward techno rhythms keep the record dancefloor-regulated. ʻMax Hitʼ opens the release and wastes no time by creating an intimidating introduction. A bold, toned percussion makes for an infectious groove, instrumental in the most efficient way possible. Dry and tight in the drum department for maximum effect, bursting with metallic sounds creating overwhelming tension full of grit and texture. The restrained production foreshadows a minimal but rhythmically effective track, keeping things straight to the point before introducing the defining mid-section synth riff, affirming the sheer size of the track. ʻFaux Wave 3ʼ introduces an expanded palette of textures on display with its tight saturated groove commanding to be heard in this production as razor sharp lead lines, blended with cavernous spaces and rolling percussive patterns. On the back side, ʻSystematicaʼ hits a little deeper with an infectious, pulsating bassline that effortlessly pushes all other elements forward, with a simplistic yet distinct synth motif that dips in and out, creating an ominous feeling of mystery that surrounds the track. With a few fundamental elements, Endlec manages to have things constantly twisting and changing, introducing a boundless dimension to a track made with impeccable precision. Closing the release, ʻSignalionʼ brings an even darker tone and maintains a similar hypnotic energy with its loopy groove. A perfect blend of distorted drums, rolling percussion and captivating metallic FM tones throughout, delivering a neat finish to the EP.
