PREMIERE: Sapiens - Odishon (Tuxedo Remix) [Yang]

from BLOOM RECORDS PODCAST · host BLOOM RECORDS

Originally part of the whimsically titled "Reservoir Gods" EP in March 2018, Sapiens hit another progressive house landmark with "Odishon." As Yin and Yang now revisit the track first released on Baroque Digital, remixes come courtesy of Belarus and Polish icons. From the home of Poland's infamous shipyards, Tuxedo has made a name for himself across Gdansk. A regular across the clubs of his home country and mainland Europe, he's found himself at the forefront of the underground dance scene. A production career in tandem has seen the Tuxedo sound featured on Pole Folder's Reworck and John 00 Fleming's JOOF. The decade long journey has seen almost 500 production credits as well as the formation of his own successful Electronic Tree imprint. It is thus with great pleasure that Tuxedo returns to Yang remixing Sapiens. Creating a cavernous bass groove with huge low-end, deep kick and groove-laden percussion, Tuxedo cleverly interprets "Odishon." By making intelligent use of original components, he melds them with a raft of additional production creating a vibrant aural collage. A soft arpeggio hypnotically wends itself across the near nine-minute piece as counterpoint melodies make their glorious mark. The result is an innovative remix that pays tribute to Sapiens work while displaying Tuxedo's considerable skill and technique.
