PREP IT Study

We are excited to kick off 2023 with our first podcast of the year. We'll be talking about the PREP-IT program, which is two randomized clinical trials, A-PREP and PREPARE, to compare the effectiveness of two pre-operative skin cleaning solutions, water-based vs alcohol-based, in orthopaedic trauma surgery. The main goal of the studies was to see if one solution was better than the other at reducing surgical site infections after surgery to repair broken bones.
