Preparedness: Planning for and Personal Impact of Low Probability / High Impact Events

from Mastering Risk · host Jeff

Send us Fan MailThis one feels different, this may actually affect me and potentially at a level I never thought possible.  How do we understand the world events and the impact on our lives?  We conduct the preparedness planning evolution of considering what we would do when the most impactful event occurs.  That event is defined by you, for your family, what would be the worst case scenario, the event that would devastate and forever change family operations?  Plan for it, grab a coffee and a piece of paper.  Walk through that event, how would you want to be able to react, how would you see the events unfolding and then devise your plan, for your family.  The thoughtful time is the essential element, you see yourself successful, able to overcome the issue, which in turn calms your psyche.  If you need some specific piece of equipment to make this happen, then invest, but it likely will not be more than a few items.  Preparedness is never about equipment, its about planning and self efficacy and becoming self reliant.  You do that with a plan, then get on with an awesome life.  Support the showhttps://preparednesslabs.ca/
