Preparing the Ground | Renewal I

God has always worked through a ‘faithful remnant’ of people who have a holy discontentment with the spiritual status quo. These people are fed-up with hollow and nominal religion, and know in their bones that false idols and ideologies are leading people astray. They know that God wants so much more for His people than nominal, dry, practically dead religion. Through repentance, fasting, prayer and utter dependence on God, they prepare the ground for Him to move in power and bring about renewal. -- 2 Chronicles 7:14 - “If my people, who bear my name, humble themselves, pray and seek my face, and turn from their evil ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.” -- “Renewal comes when we are sickened by our false gods and the broken promises of our impotent idols and ideologies.
