Preparing With Prayer

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. We often say, at EE, that witnessing without prayer is presumption. The truth is, we cannot effectively share Jesus with others unless we begin with prayer. Prayer invites the Holy Spirit to go with us and to lead the conversation. He’s the One who gives us the words to say. He’s the One who speaks to and ultimately changes hearts. Without Him, we go alone. So as we talk about preparing to share the Gospel this week, I want you to know that preparation begins with prayer. The Bible says in first John that "This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us." Is it God's will for people to hear the Good News of the Gospel? Well, you bet! So let's begin to pray and ask the Holy Spirit for guidance and opportunities to share. And let's get prepared!
