The Prescott Valley Police Department (PVPD) is committed to providing our community with resources to prevent falling victim to fraud and scams.Your banking institution will never ask you to give your credit or debit card to a courier, to move your money to another account to detect fraud, or to verify personal information they should already have. If someone calls you and says they are a bank representative, hang up the phone and do not engage with that person. If you think that you may have been the victim of a scam, call the phone number on the back of your card or visit your local branch and speak to someone directly from the bank about your concerns.PVPD provides several, free classes throughout the year specifically for fraud and scam prevention. These classes provide information and tools to avoid becoming a victim.
